Cape Highlights Tour
Including an awe- inspiring tour of Cape Point, magnificent beaches, breathtaking views and historic coastal villages, the Cape Highlights tour encapsulates the best that the Cape has to offer.
The tour commences at 8:30. We travel along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, stopping at a Llandudno look-out point before continuing on to Hout Bay, a quaint village and fishing harbour with magnificent mountain views and beach. In Hout Bay you are given the option (not included in the cost) of enjoying a boat trip out to Seal Island, allowing you to take in the spectacular views from a different perspective.
Our tour then continues on through Chapman`s Peak, one of the world`s most breathtaking coastal drives, to Cape Point; the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, and the Good Hope Nature Reserve, which has abundant fynbos vegetation, birdlife, game such as some antelope species and zebra, historic lighthouses and shipwrecks.
Leaving Cape Point behind we wander through to historic Simon's Town, a navy village with charming Victorian architecture that is home to Boulders Beach and its penguin colony. While in Simons Town we stop to enjoy a light lunch at a nearby restaurant.
Our next stop is Stellenbosch, the heart of the South African wine Industry, boasting great beauty and culture that is steeped in South African history. Walk down the canal-lined avenues of this university town, in the shade of giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings. Coffee shops, galleries, antique shops and wine bars spill onto the sidewalks. An air of quiet intellectualism and wine-making history abounds here. With the sheer vastness of wine estates on offer, we are truly spoilt for choice when we enjoy a cellar tour and winetasting in Stellenbosch.
We return to the bustle of city life after an enthralling day exploring the Cape and its countryside, arriving back at the hotels at approximately 17:30
