Hout Bay

Type: Scenic Views, Fishing Village, Beach, Walks, Drives
Located just 20 minutes from Cape Town's city centre, Hout Bay is affectionately referred to by its locals as the 'Republic of Hout Bay' due to there being only three access points into the suburb - Chapman's Peak, Suikerbossie hill from Llundudno and Constantia Nek, all three offering magnificent views. Once a small fishing village, Hout Bay has maintained the air of a quaint village and seaside holiday resort and offers a gorgeous sandy beach ideal for long walks along the shore while eating an ice cream or feasting on 'just-caught' fish and chips from the harbour. The bay is beautifully framed by mountains that act as a wind break as well as creating a beautiful green backdrop. Hout Bay is home to the popular Seal Island, the World of Birds, a charming harbour and many other attractions.
