Londolozi Private Game Reserve
Said to have the best leopard viewing in Africa, Londolozi is part of the Sabi Sands Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park. Londolozi offers visitors the opportunity to experience complete luxury and some of the best wildlife viewing available. Situated on the Sand River, Londolozi was one of the original private game reserves in Sabi Sands, covering 14 000 hectares of the 56 000 hectare reserve.
The root of the word Londolozi is in the Zulu word for protect and means "protector of all living things" - an ambitious conservation ethic that Londolozi embraces in its sensitivity to the natural world. The reserve is internationally recognised for its far sighted and progressive management of land and wildlife rehabilitation as well as productive community involvement.
World renowned as one of Africa's finest game lodges, Londolozi was the first game reserve in the world to be accorded Relais et Chateaux status, reinforcing its commitment to luxurious accommodation, fine cuisine and exceptional service.
This rich wild wonderland assures exceptional game drives and a true wilderness experience.
Created more than 80 years ago by the Varty family, Londolozi's conservation ethics and service levels stem from a long line of strong family values that have culminated in the creation of an exclusive 5-star lodge that exceeds expectations.
Morning and evening drives last approximately 3-hours and offer the ideal opportunity to explore the bush and learn more about the various game. Once back at the lodge guests can choose from an array of activities - such as a visit to the wellness centre to indulge in a healing and pampering experience in the heart of the bush. The lodge is designed to harmoniously fit into its surroundings and also offers the Londolozi Life concept which provides a yoga studio where guests can absorb the balance and serenity of nature.
Accommodation
Initially consisting of only four rondavels the camp now boasts 5 different camps, offering a variety of chalets and private suites. The original four rondavels are still intact at the Londolozi Bateleur Camp. In 1980 the Bush Camp was split into the Founders and Pioneer camps; which were the first two game lodges in the world to be given Relais et Chateaux status.
