Entabeni Private Game Reserve

Entabeni Safari Conservancy, "The Place of the Mountain", is situated in the World Heritage "Waterberg Biosphere" of the Waterberg region. Less than a three-hour drive north of Johannesburg, this 22 000 ha malaria-free reserve boasts five eco-systems. The upper escarpment offers majestic craggy rock formations and wide open grass plains. This is separated from the lower plateau by 600 metre high cliffs. The lower escarpment is about three degrees warmer and comprises sandy wetlands.

Entabeni offers far more than the usual game sightings of the Big Five. Experience scenic helicopter flights, stargazing in the observatory, sunset lake cruises and a variety of game viewing activities.

Entebeni offers various types of quality accommodation and a flexible daily programme, including game drives and guided walks with a ranger, and with optional extras such as a visit to a local Pedi village, guided horse trails, helicopter flights and meals on Hanglip Mountain, sunset boat cruises, children's eco-educational programmes and beauty treatments.

Because of the 5 different ecosystems within the reserve, game viewing and bird watching are most rewarding in terms of the variety of species to be seen, identified by knowledgeable and friendly rangers. The upper escarpment is predominantly grassland dominated by the most beautiful crags, while a drive down between the cliffs, where a gurgling stream beckons, takes you to the warmer sandy wetlands of the lower escarpment.
