Ithala Game Reserve

Time needed: 4 Hour(s) to 1 Week(s)

Equally as enthralling and boasting the same scenic splendour but without the crowds that flock into Hluhluwe-Imfolozi National Park, the Ithala Game Reserve at 29,600 hectare has established itself as one of South Africa's best sanctuaries. The Phongolo River and its tributaries that flow through the park, have carved deep valleys providing open grassland on the heights and wild, rugged rock formations.

Accommodation

The Ntshondwe Camp with 40 self-catering chalets tucked away at the base of an imposing escarpment, offers splendid wildlife viewing with a deck that overlooks a water hole, while a beautifully situated pool allows for a much needed refresher from the heat of the bush.
