Considered to be one of the top art museums in South Africa, the Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg is currently housed in a beautiful Victorian building, formerly the Supreme Court building, and was first opened in 1903. The gallery contains an important collection of South African, British, French and Victorian art; including paintings from Degas, Renoir, Matisse and Picasso.
