The day begins with a scenic drive via Pietermaritzburg and the Natal Midlands to South Africa's highest driveable mountain pass, Sani Pass. Offering abundant spectacular mountain scenery we weave our way up the formidable Sani Pass climbing to a height of 2873m and crossing into Lesotho. Once in Lesotho we stop for a light lunch in the hikers' chalet on the edge of the escarpment before heading back down the mountain and returning to Durban.
