Ballito
The northern coastline of KwaZulu Natal, which includes Ballito, Shaka's Rock, Salt Rock, Umhlali and Sheffield Beach is a strip of coast known for its beaches, rocky headlands, lush green rolling hills and hidden tidal pools. This stretch of coastline is often referred to as the Dolphin Coast due to the large number of dolphins that are often seen playing in the water. Avoid the busy N2 and travel along the old coast road as you explore the wonders of this beautiful and exotic coastline.
Ballito itself is a popular Dolphin Coast resort offering safe swimming, tidal pools, good shopping and plenty of accommodation. Here the warm Indian Ocean ripples along the shore while families play in the soft sand making sandcastles and soaking up the sun. The main swimming beach is Willard Beach which is protected by shark nets and lifeguards, and is also popular with surfers and body-boarders.
