Free State

Centrally situated the Free State is a farming orientated region producing over 70% of South Africa's grain. When entering the Free State after crossing the Vaal or the Orange River one is met with the sight of immense, flat, golden fields of maize, sunflowers and wheat. The capital of the province, as well as South Africa's judicial capital, is Bloemfontein, which is also affectionately known as the 'city of roses'.
