Shamwari Game Reserve

Time needed: 2 Day(s) to 1 Week(s)

Shamwari Game Reserve is a malaria free, private game reserve in the Eastern Cape. Dedicated to nature conservation, it is here that plant, animal and bird life co-exist in a wonderful representation of untamed Africa. Stretching over 20 000 hectares, Shamwari boasts five different eco-systems and is home to over 5000 animals, including the 'Big Five'.

Situated along the Bushman's River, halfway between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown, Shamwari offers guests the opportunity to explore the bush on two daily game drives, one in the early morning and the other at dusk. Game drives last for between 3 and 4 hours with each group of 6 guests being attended to by a personal game ranger who provides useful information while on the drive.

Accommodation

Shamwari has 6 different 5-star lodges to choose from all providing world-class service and luxury. Long Lee, Bushmans River Lodge, Eagles Crag, Riverdene, Bayethe (by-ye-ti) and Lobengula each offer a different perspective on the African safari experience.
