St Francis Bay

Situated half way between St Francis Bay and Knysna, the St Francis area consists of St Francis Bay, Port St Francis and Cape St Francis.

Home to the Seal Point Lighthouse and the Ajubatus Penguin Rehabilitation centre, Cape St Francis is an eco-friendly destination and the most southern point in the Eastern Cape.

Known for its cottages with their uniform thatched roofs and white exteriors, St Francis Bay was originally owned by the sugar producing Hullett Family who first came to the area in 1954. Apart from its beautiful beaches, the St Francis Bay area also offers a traversable canal system that joins the Kromme River to the ocean and provides countless hours of boating fun. Whales and dolphins are often seen playing in the water along the shoreline and the bay itself is well known for its great waves ideal for surfing and kite-surfing.
