Situated in Oxford Street in East London, the East London Museum has a range of impressive displays that are definitely worth taking the time to view, most notably a fossil of a Coelacanth specimen. The Coelacanth fossil was unexpectedly found in 1938, after having been thought of as extinct for millions of years. The discovery of the live Coelacanth was regarded around the world as the most significant zoological find of the century. The museum is also home to the last remaining dodo egg and the world's oldest fossil footprint is on display.
