Attractions
A combination of seaside attractions, history and culture, and game viewing await the visitor in the Eastern Cape.
Fun in the sun and watersports galore are amongst the main attractions in both East London and Port Elizabeth. Beachside cafes and bars are ideal for a leisurely lunch or a refreshing cocktail and the Bayworld Oceanarium in Port Elizabeth is a highlight amongst young and old alike with its daily dolphin shows.
A safari at one of the game reserves is another highlight and its worth noting that the Eastern Cape is a malaria free area. The well known Addo Elephant National Park is located just 75km's outside of Port Elizabeth, and is well known for its herds of elephant. Other private reserves such as Shamwari, Amakhala and Kwandwe all offer luxury safari experiences, set in beautiful surroundings.
Other highlights include the stark and somewhat eerie Valley of Desolation where towering columns of eroded rock create a striking landscape. Hiking, walking and sightseeing can be enjoyed.
