Provinces
The massive 1,219,912 kmē of land that makes up South Africa is divided into nine distinct and different areas known as provinces. The 9 provinces include; the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Gauteng,Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Free State, North West Province and KwaZulu Natal. Each province has its own landscape, legislature, climate and diverse attractions - in fact each province is so different it is as if there are nine different countries within one. Some of the highlights include spending time exploring the Western Cape's most famous landmark - Table Mountain in the mother city, Cape Town, or one can escape from the hustle and bustle of the city in KwaZulu Natal's great Ukhahlamba-Drakensberg mountain range. Mpumalanga and Limpopo share the expansive 'Big Five' game reserve known as Kruger National Park while Gaunteng offers a cosmopolitan feel with an African heart-beat. The Eastern Cape also offers a taste of the 'Big 5' in its safari parks, including; Shamwari Game Reserve and the Addo Elephant National Park.
