Southern Tour
Enjoy this seven day organised Southern Region tour, where the beautiful landscape is stark, desolate, hot and dry. Travelling from Windhoek to the Kalahari Desert, where you will view the spectacular Kalahari Dunes, before setting off to the Quiver Tree Forest. Travel to the Fish River Canyon, a ravine 161m long, up to 27 Kilometres wide and almost 550m deep. Continuing your journey west of the Naukluft Mountains to Sesriem; gorged out over centuries by the Tsauchaub River and Sossusvlei, a dry clay basin surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world. Continue onto Walvis Bay, where the lagoon is one Africa's most important wetlands and hosts large flocks of flamingoes, pelicans and other water birds. Explore the charming town of Swakopmund before making your way back to Windhoek.
Depart Windhoek for Rehoboth, capital of the Baster Community. There is a short stop where the history of the area is explained. Depart Rehoboth and travel to Kalkrand via the Tropic of Capricorn. Continue your journey and arrive at Kalkrand for a short comfort stop. Travel via Stampriet. En route look out for memorials of German soldiers from the Herero War in 1904 -1906. Lunch en route. Arrive at your lodge in the Kalahari Desert for check in. Guests can enjoy refreshments before proceeding on a game drive with a sundowner drink served on top of a Kalahari dune. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Auob Lodge
Depart your lodge early and travel through the Kalahari Desert to Koes on the C15 and C17 and view the Kalahari dunes. Arrive at Koes for a quick comfort stop. Depart Koes and continue to the Quiver Tree (Kokerboom) Forest. Arrive at the Quiver Tree Forest (Kokerboom). The forest has ± 250 of these unique trees in total whose name derives from the San hunters, who used a dead branch as a quiver for their arrows. Continue to Keetmanshoop for a lunch stop. Depart Keetmanshoop and continue to the Naute Dam (2nd largest dam in Namibia) for a quick stop. Continue the journey to your lodge for your overnight stay. Optional sundowner walk ± 45 minutes from the lodge.

Canon Village
After breakfast travel to the Hobas campsite, an entrance to the Fish River Canyon. Arrive at the entrance and visit the main viewpoint, Hikers Point and Table Mountain viewpoint and go for a walk along the rim. We travel on the C12 to Seeheim, rejoin the main road and continue the journey towards Aus. Stop just before Aus at the site of a POW camp for± 2500 interned German soldiers from WW1. Continue to the Aus Information Centre where you can enjoy a light Lunch. Stop at the Garub waterhole to view the feral horses. Check into your Lodge. Go for a walk or join a sun downer drive. Dinner and overnight.

Desert Horse Inn
Depart Aus towards Helmeringhausen via the Neisip Plain. Road conditions permitting, travel on one of Namibia's most beautiful district roads, the D707, along the Tiras Mountains to Betta. After a short stop continue your journey. Arrive at your rest camp early afternoon. Relax at the pool or take part in a guided tour to see various wild cats in a nearby enclosure. Dinner and overnight.
Hammerstein Rest Camp
Early breakfast before travelling to Sesriem.
Arrive at the gate (sunrise) and travel to Sossusvlei through the Tsauchab River Valley and view some of the highest dunes in the world. Arrive at the 4x4 station where you will board 4 x 4 vehicles and travel along the riverbed into the heart of the Namib Desert. Return to the 4 x 4 station, and continue the journey in your touring vehicle to the Sesriem Canyon. Depart the canyon and pass the Naukluft Mountains en route to your lodge for your overnight stay. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. The rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Namib Naukluft Lodge
After breakfast travel via Solitaire and Kuiseb Canyon past the desert plains of the Namib. Arrive at Walvis Bay at the coast in time for lunch. Visit the Walvis Bay Lagoon - considered to be one of the most important wetlands in the world. Flamingos, pelicans and other water birds can be seen here. Depart Walvis Bay and travel to Swakopmund for check-in at your hotel. In the afternoon travel to the Moon landscape - an area which was formed by intense volcanic rock ± 200million years. Roads permitting, see a Welwitschia mirabilis - one of the most unique plants on earth. Enjoy a sun downer en route, on the beach or in the dunes before dinner. Overnight in Swakopmund.
Hansa Hotel
This morning you will have time on your own to explore the charming old town of Swakopmund. Depart Swakopmund and travel to Windhoek. There is a short comfort stop at Karibib where we visit the Henckert's Tourist Centre. Departing Karibib you will travel to Okahandja and visit a craft market. Continue your journey to Windhoek where your tour ends on arrival.
