Damaraland
Damaraland is a region in Namibia to the south of Etosha National Park and north of the main road to Swakopmund. The Hereo-speaking people, known as the Damara people, lived in this area hence the name of the region. The area has many popular attractions in it such as Twyfelfontein, The Petrified Forest and the Brandberg. The Damaraland region is one of the most scenic in Namibia. Open plains and grasslands are flanked by distant mountains and interspersed by massive granite koppies.
