Epupa Falls are found on the northern border of Namibia and Angola. Home to cascading waters, baobabs and palm groves, Epupa is considered by many to be a highlight of a trip to Namibia. Made up of a series of waterfalls, the Epupa Falls are created by the Kunene River as it cascades down a distance of 1.5km forming a number of rock pools. The bird life in the area is prolific offering abundant views of birds such as the Africa Fish eagle, loeries, rollers and a range of kingfishers. The area is also home to a majority of the semi-nomadic Himba people and the word 'Epupa' in the Himba language describes the spray from the water as it gushes over the cliff.
