Vilanculos

Vilanculos is a small coastal town situated in the subtropical province of Inhmbane, Mozambique. The town, with its lively atmosphere and friendly people offers the perfect base from which to explore the picturesque Bazaruto Archipelago. The Archipelago offers some of the world's best snorkelling, diving and big game fishing. The islands are pristine in their natural beauty and diverse ecologies, and offer the opportunity of viewing Dolphins year round.

The Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary forms the Southern most part of the Bazaruto Archipelago. This is a 25 000 hectare reserve covering both land and sea and encompasses a medley of wetlands, coral reefs and small islands. Some of the richest biodiversity in Mozambique is found here.
