Southern Africa encompasses a number of countries and is home to many different people and cultures. There is a huge diversity in habatats, ranging from desserts, grasslands and savannas, to the largest inland delta in the world, and it offers some of the best game viewing on the planet.

South Africa is the most popular tourist destination in the region, and is the economic powerhouse of the continent. Often quoted as one of the most beautiful cities in the world Cape Town is a must see. There is excellent game viewing in many game parks: Kruger Park, Madikwe Game Reserve and Addo Elephant Park to name but a few.

The Okavango Delta in Botswana is one of Africa's top tourism destinations. The Moremi Game Reserve and other game reserves such as Chobe National Park offer some of the region's best game viewing.

Named after the Namib desert, Namibia is a starkly beautiful land of vast open spaces. Popular attractions include Sossusvlei and the Etosha National Park.

Discovered by David Livingstone, the magnificent Victoria Falls are accessible from Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The small, land-locked countries of Swaziland and Lesotho are bordered by and contained in South Africa respectively.
